Trio of cards

Just a quick post today with some more 'old' cards. I'm suffering a bit this evening as I've been at to the hospital today to have a tooth out. I'm a bit of a wimp really as far as dentistry concerned so quite glad it's all done. Hope your day has gone well.

As you can see the first two are just plain white cardstock that has been through the Cuttlebug and then mounted onto coloured card. Butterfly done with XCut punch. The DP on the right-hand card is, I think, K&Co. Ribbon and Gems from stash.

Thanks for looking.

Cute Squares again

These LOTV Cute Squares really are great. I can see I'm going to have to order more. So here's a pink and red card for today. I used Core'dinations card for the lacey square and punched border. First outing too for my new MS Valentine Hearts punch.

I've tried to get a close-up of the lovely K&Co flower which has a corduroy fabric centre.

Shaped Card Mark II

Monday again and doesn't the time fly by! My craft session this afternoon was good fun and lovely to have a natter with friends. I thought I'd have another try at the shaped card I posted last week. I did it a little differently this time as I cut out an extra shaped front to stick onto the card base. This means there's now a white border showing around the whole of the card. If you look at my post from 18th January you can see what I mean.

Tent Card

Hello and happy Sunday to everyone, hope your weekend has gone well.  I haven't managed any actual crafting but I went to Hobbycraft and bought a new MS punch - the Lace Heart border - and I may just have placed an order with Joanna Sheen that includes the MS Floral Vine Deep Edger punch. You can see that I have a thing for punches - well I'm trying to expand my collection!!  Tomorrow I have a lovely craft afternoon arranged with friends so am looking forward to that.

Here's a little tent card from a while back

Cute Squares card

Like a lot of crafters I am really loving the Lili of the Valley Cute Squares - here is my handiwork for today using another one of the Party Girls Cute Squares.  The photo isn't showing the colours that well.  It looks better in real life!

Lilac Let Loose

I decided to use some of the left-over papers from my last card making session and it's turned out to be VERY lilac.  I also wanted to experiment with making my own shaped card blank using my nestie labels set. Here's the end result which I'm quite pleased with although, as always, I can see where improvements could be made!

Lovely in Lilac!!

Well I think so anyway. I haven't managed to stay away from my usual colourway for long. This is a card for my mother-in-law's birthday and I hope she'll like the image I chose for her. It'll remind her of any one of her granddaughters I'm sure!

DPs - Papermania Capsule Collection in Heather - Party Girls Cute Square from Lili of the Valley.
Dreamy Days circular sentiment also from Lili of the Valley.
White and lilac card from stash.  Paper Cellar Rafia Lace in Lilac.  Paper Cellar Flowers.
Papermania Mosaics.  Pearl in centre of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Tools used - Nestabilities Plain and Scalloped Circles and Lacey Square.  Cuttlebug Olivia Alphabet.

I've managed to get a close up of the sentiment. I think my aim for 2011 is to improve my photography skills and learn how to use a photo-editing package.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges

Cupcake Craft Challenge 124-Something New (new image square,DPs & raffia lace)
       Meljens square or round cards

Being Frugal

Hello and what miserable weather at the moment, absolutely pouring down with rain and gloomy.

This card is one I did a little while ago and I even managed to use up some scraps and off-cuts. It's quite plain but overall I was pleased with the finished result. I think the ribbon was from a box of chocolates I received (and enjoyed!!) a while ago. I did share a few though.

A Commission

Today's cards are ones I was asked to make by a friend whose two daughters-in-law celebrated their 40th birthdays in December so it's OK to post them now.  She said to do both cards the same but I felt happier doing different cards albeit along similar lines.

Challenge Card

Talk about last minute - hope I make the deadline for LOTV challenge.

Entered for the LOTV New Beginnings' challenge using LOTV Zooming Along stamp. I've used it as a congratulations card for a new driver. Coloured with Promarkers and I used some of the new papers I got from the Hobbycraft sale. All other items from stash. Also used Nesties Labels dies and Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet.

Phew, think I just about made it. Well this is the first challenge I've ever entered and if i do another I'll try and leave myself more time.

New Year and Bargain Time

Happy New Year !!  Hope you had a good time seeing in the New Year whether partying or spending time at home with family.

We went off to Hobbycraft yesterday, well you DO have to start the year how you intend to spend the rest of it! So the photos below show the bargains I managed to find.

Very pleased with the K&Company bits as they'll go with a big 12x12 pad of papers that I already have. The pearl brads were also a great buy as the original price was £3.99.

Confession time - I did buy more than one of some of these.

I haven't got immediate use for everything I bought but it was too nice to leave behind and I didn't completely clear the shelves.

Hope you have fun shopping in the sales.
